Chase was born on 7th March 1994 in Maryland USA, he started swimming at the age of 5. He wanted to pursue his career in swimming, so used to compete in swimming during his early education. In 2012, Chase graduated from Fallston High School.
And in the US Olympic trials to be held in the year 2012 and got fifth place in 200 meters and sixth place in 400 meters. So he did not make it to the Olympics but was selected in the Junior Pacific Championships team, winning the 400m with a record time of 4:12:49 and the 200m with a time of 1:59:51.

At the 2016 US Olympic Trials, Chase was the first swimmer to qualify for the Olympic Games with a gold medal in the 400m medley and a silver medal in Olympic swimming with a time of 4:09:54.
